Yarty: River and Floodplain Restoration – Design Study

This report sets out detailed designs for restoring two key reaches of the River Yarty — Yarty Farm and Waterhouse Farm. Commissioned by the Blackdown Hills National Landscape and prepared by Westcountry Rivers Trust, it provides site-specific interventions to improve river morphology, reconnect floodplains, and enhance habitats for species such as salmon and trout. The study includes geomorphological assessments, design drawings, cost estimates, and regulatory considerations, offering a practical framework for implementing nature-based solutions that reduce erosion, improve water storage, and support biodiversity.
