Balancing the Scales – Beavers and the Axe

Join us for an evening exploring one of the most exciting and transformative stories in river restoration: the potential return of beavers to the Axe catchment. The event opens with a screening of Balancing the Scales, a powerful and beautifully produced film from the Beaver Trust that follows the ecological, social and practical implications of bringing beavers back into our landscapes.
Following the screening, a panel of local specialists and land managers will lead a conversation about ‘beaver readiness’ in the Axe catchment. They will explore what beavers could mean for our rivers, farms and communities; how to prepare for coexistence; and what tools and support already exist to help manage change.
There will also be opportunities to ask questions, share experiences and hear multiple perspectives on what a beaver-inclusive future might look like here.
